Anna Lodewyckx Icelandic Scholarship

The purpose of the major and minor Anna Lodewyckx Icelandic scholarships is to promote the advanced study of Icelandic (Old Norse and Modern Icelandic) or failing this to encourage study and research by Australian citizens in Scandinavian countries.

The value of the scholarship is approximately $5,000.

ELIGIBILITY

The scholarships are open to persons:

(a) who have been admitted to the degree of Bachelor of Arts (degree with honours) in an Australian university or who have been admitted to some other degree approved by the selection committee and
(b) who possess an elementary knowledge of a Scandinavian language.

• A recipient of a major scholarship must undertake an approved course at a Scandinavian university during one academic year.
• A recipient of a minor scholarship must undertake an approved course at a Scandinavian university during one semester.

For the purposes of this regulation a Scandinavian country is Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland or the Faroe Islands.
